The Township of Russell is inviting residents to attend a public information session on Phase 2 of the Notre Dame Street Storm Sewer Replacement and Rehabilitation Project, the next stage of a multi-year infrastructure initiative aimed at upgrading critical stormwater systems.
Council has awarded the tender for Phase 2 to a general contractor, and construction is expected to begin within the next month. The work is anticipated to take approximately two years to complete.
Construction Area
Phase 2 will include work along Notre-Dame Street between Domaine Street and Lapalme Street, Ste-Marie Road from Notre-Dame Street to approximately 250 metres south of the intersection, and St-Pierre Road between Notre-Dame Street and Dignard Street.
The project is part of the municipality’s long-term infrastructure planning to rehabilitate the aging storm sewer systems and improve drainage capacity in key areas of Embrun.
Public Information Session
Residents can learn more about the project at the upcoming session that will take place on Tuesday, March 3, at 6:15 p.m. at Town Hall, 717 Notre-Dame Street, Embrun.
During the session, municipal staff and members of the project team will present an overview of the project scope and objectives, the reasons the work is required, construction phasing and the anticipated schedule, traffic management plans and property access during construction, potential impacts on residents, businesses, and municipal services, and a question-and-answer period.
Municipal officials are encouraging residents and business owners in the affected areas to attend the session to ask questions and provide feedback early in the process.
Those unable to attend may submit questions by email to infrastructure@russell.ca. Project information and presentation materials are available on the municipality’s website at www.russell.ca/NotreDameSt, allowing residents to review details in advance.
