A joint investigation led by the Ottawa Police Service (OPS), with assistance from the Brockville Police Service, and the Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), has resulted in the arrest of an Ottawa-area man in connection with an armed robbery and break-and-enter that occurred in late 2024 in The Nation Township.
Police say the incident took place on December 23, 2024, when officers from the Russell County OPP responded to a report of a robbery and break-and-enter at a residence on Limoges Road. Through the investigation, police determined that a suspect entered the home while armed with a handgun and committed a robbery inside the dwelling.
Following what authorities described as an extensive multi-jurisdictional investigation, police arrested a 26-year-old man from Ottawa. The accused is now facing Criminal Code charges across multiple jurisdictions related to a series of alleged offences.
Charges stemming from the incident in The Nation Township include break and enter a dwelling house with intent, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence (robbery), possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, and robbery using a firearm.
Police confirmed that the accused remains in custody and is awaiting a court appearance. As with all cases before the courts, the allegations have not been proven, and the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
Investigators are continuing to encourage members of the public to come forward with any information that may assist ongoing or future investigations.
