After the Municipality of Russell announced it would no longer host the annual Remembrance Day ceremony at the Embrun Town Hall last year, the Club Richelieu Embrun stepped forward to ensure the tradition continued.
The community gathered at 3 p.m. to honour the courage and sacrifice of Canada’s veterans in a heartfelt ceremony organized entirely by the local club.
Among those in attendance were MPP Stéphane Sarrazin, Member of Parliament for Prescott–Russell–Cumberland, Giovanna Mingarelli, and Municipality of Russell Mayor Mike Tarnowski, who joined residents in paying tribute to those who served and those who continue to serve.
The ceremony, held under crisp November skies, featured moments of reflection, remembrance, and gratitude, reaffirming the community’s deep respect for the men and women who fought for peace and freedom. Club Richelieu Embrun’s leadership ensured that Embrun’s legacy of remembrance lives on.
