St. Mary’s Anglican Church Raises Over $5k for Good Neighbours Food Bank

St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Russell raised $5,260 “to help the foodbank meet the ever-growing needs of the Russell and Embrun communities.”

Since 2020, St. Mary’s has donated $ 18,005 to Good Neighbours Food Bank – including the more than $5,000 raised already this year – alongside a weekly collection of non-perishable food items.

Jean-François Gignac of the Good Neighbour’s Food Bank said the support is much appreciated, given the community food bank has seen a considerable rise in its use.

St. Mary’s Anglican Church is “a small church with a big heart,” said Raymond Scharf, the church warden.

St. Mary’s is also known for their numerous outreach initiatives such as Out of the Cold, Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF) and Clothing Closet.
