The United Counties of Prescott and Russell (UCPR) hosted a sold-out Warden’s Benefit Golf Tournament last Friday, bringing together local leaders, businesses, and community organizations in a show of generosity and regional pride.
Held at the Casselview Golf and Country Club in Casselman, the annual tournament welcomed 160 golfers and was presented by Colliers Project Leaders. Tickets sold out in under two days, highlighting the community’s strong support for the event and its cause.
“We are going through a particular period that encourages us to invest even more in our communities. Once again this year, the response from sponsors and participants of the Tournament was remarkable. Thanks to them, we will be able to support more organizations in the UCPR – organizations that provide essential services for the well-being of our residents. I wholeheartedly thank all the sponsors and participants,” stated UCPR Warden, Yves Laviolette.
Since its launch in 2018, the Warden’s Fund has distributed $195,000 to local organizations. Funds raised during this year’s tournament will be distributed at the UCPR’s Inaugural Meeting in December 2025, following the close of all three annual fundraising events: the ROMA Hospitality Suite, the Warden’s Golf Tournament, and the Warden’s Banquet (scheduled for November).
The UCPR also celebrated this year’s top golf performances. Edith Léveillé won Women’s Longest Drive, Mike Whiffin won Men’s Longest Drive, Kate Kennedy won Women’s Closest to the Pin, and Pier-Olivier Fournier won Men’s Closest to the Pin.
The event aims to show the UCPR’s continued mission to support the well-being of its 98,000 residents across eight municipalities, through collaboration, bilingual service, and community-driven leadership.
