Bertrand reflects on campaign
In a Facebook post following the announcement of the results, Bertrand said she was proud of the support she received and of the campaign she ran.
“Proud to have received the most votes of all the candidates,” she wrote, adding that she was also proud to represent women, francophones and the families she has worked with.
Bertrand thanked residents who supported her, including those she did not know personally, and expressed appreciation for her family members who stood by her during the campaign and attended the election-night results announcement.
She also said she was proud to have run an honest campaign focused on sharing information and to have responded to messages, emails, texts and interview requests.
Among her immediate priorities were updating the name of her campaign’s social media group to reflect her new role as councillor, sharing lessons learned during the campaign, collecting her election signs and thanking supporters.
The new council will serve a four-year term until 2030.
