Vaccinations start for people aged 75 and over next week

Residents born in 1946 or earlier will be able to book their first dose using the province’s website or phone line.

The province will also expand the number of pharmacies administering AstraZeneca vaccines, but the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) has yet to hear whether any local stores will be among those offering the service.

Vaccinations have already started for those aged 80 and over, including at a clinic in Rockland on Friday. Media were given a tour of the Jean Marc Lalonde arena, which has been transformed into a mass immunization site.

A feature about the vaccine clinic, and what to expect when you visit one, will appear in next week’s newspaper.
