The procession for Sgt. Mueller started at 9 a.m. from Théo Burnet Funeral Home on Laurier Street in Clarence-Rockland and the police escort made its way to the Canadian Tire Centre in Kanata where the family and thousands of police from across the province gathered to pay tribute to their fallen colleague.

Premier Doug Ford, Lieutenant-Governor Elizabeth Dowdeswell, and Ontario Solicitor General Michael Kerzner were all in attendance.

As the funeral was closed to the public, Clarence-Rockland organized a livestream event for residents of Bourget to pay their respects at the village’s community centre.

Dozens of people gathered quietly in the dimly lit hall, joined by several Clarence-Rockland municipal officials including Chief Administrator Pierre Voisine, Ward 8 Councillor Diane Choinière and by-law officers.

“We are so proud that he was port of the Ontario public service family,” said Premier Ford at the lectern in the Canadian Tire Centre. “I pray his legacy of courage, dedication and selflessness lives on with his family.”

“I’m so sorry for your pain. We all grieve with you as you mourn the loss of yet another brother. Every day, you put your life on the line to protect the people of Ontario, and I want you to know attacks against police officers will never, ever be tolerated in this province.”
