TAKE NOTICE THAT the Township of Alfred and Plantagenet has initiated a review of its Official Plan and will hold a Special Meeting of Council, open to the public,under Section 26(3)(b) of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, to discuss possible revisions to the Official Plan that may be required and provide the public with an opportunity to provide comments.

PUBLIC MEETING
You are invited to participate in this Special Meeting of Council for the Official Plan review to learn more about this important project and how you can participate in the planning process. You are entitled to attend the special meeting of Council, or you may be represented by counsel or an agent to provide information, to comment, or to ask questions about this initiative.
THE SUBJECT LANDS consist of all properties located within the Urban Areas of the villages of Wendover, Plantagenet, and Alfred. Given that the amendment applies broadly to multiple properties within these urban areas, a detailed parcel-by-parcel description and key map are not provided.
WHY ARE WE REVIEWING OUR OFFICIAL PLAN? The purpose of the Official Plan review is to update the policies to conform to planning legislation and policies from the Province of Ontario, the United Counties of Prescott and Russell and government agencies.
THE PURPOSE OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL is to inform members of the public about the Official Plan updates and outline possible changes that may be implemented. The meeting provides an early opportunity for the public to offer comments, among several opportunities throughout the course of the planning process.
A copy of the proposed Official Plan will be made available for public review shortly before the open house sessions, which are scheduled to take place over the coming months.
