Russell’s Catch the Ace Jackpot surpasses $1 million

Something familiar, and exciting, is happening again in Russell Township. The Kin Club of Russell’s 7th Catch the Ace lottery has become the hottest in the province, with the jackpot soaring past $1 million and weekly prizes exceeding $35,000. With only 14 envelopes remaining, the excitement is growing among players.

The Kin Club emphasizes that 100 per cent of proceeds, after approved expenses, go directly to charity. The club takes no commission, and this lottery alone has generated more than $1.28 million in charitable profits, benefiting over 25 organizations.

Since launching the fundraiser in 2015, the Kin Club of Russell has raised over $12.9 million in total, $6.4 million awarded in prizes, and $5.6 million donated to local charities.

Unique Sales Approach Boosts Community Impact

The success of the lottery comes from its hybrid sales model, offering both paper and online tickets. With more than 60 retail outlets and an online portal, ticket sales have surged as community members rally behind the 26 charities involved.

Participating organizations include Big Brothers Big Sisters Cornwall, Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind, Dundas County Hospice, the WDMH Foundation, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Special Olympics Ontario, and many more. A full list of charities and retail locations is available at kinclubofrussell.ca.

Weekly Draws Keep Players Engaged

Adding to the excitement, the Kin Club broadcasts its draws live every Sunday at 3:15 p.m. on Facebook. Weekly winners are contacted by phone during the live event, a moment that has become a highlight for players and supporters alike.

With only 14 envelopes left to choose from, anticipation is running high for when the elusive Ace of Spades will finally be revealed.
