{"id":28692,"date":"2023-03-22T12:57:42","date_gmt":"2023-03-22T16:57:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/editionap.ca\/?p=28692"},"modified":"2025-12-16T04:46:28","modified_gmt":"2025-12-16T03:46:28","slug":"armwrestling-championship-in-hawkesbury","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/refletnews.ca\/en\/sports-loisirs\/armwrestling-championship-in-hawkesbury\/","title":{"rendered":"Armwrestling championship in Hawkesbury"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Prescott-Russell Secondary School Athletic Association (PRSSAA) has chosen Hawkesbury to be the host community for the association\u2019s first arm-wrestling tournament.<\/p>\n<p>The PRSSAA Arm-Wrestling Championship takes place at \u00c9cole secondaire catholique regionale de Hawkesbury (ESCRH), with the first bouts starting at 9:30 a.m., following an information session for competitors on tournament procedure and safety.<\/p>\n<p>Tournament officials expect to have 180 athletes from 12 schools across the Prescott-Russell region competing in the junior and senior boys and girls divisions. Noted professional arm-wrestling personality Devon Larratt will be guest ambassador for the tournament. The event will also be live-streamed.<\/p>\n<p>Taking part in the inaugural event are teams from ESCRH, Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute, \u00c9cole secondaire catholique Embrun, \u00c9cole secondaire catholique L\u2019Escale from Rockland, South Carleton High School, \u00c9cole secondaire catholique Le Relais from Alexandria, St. Francis Xavier Catholic High School from Hammond, \u00c9cole secondaire publique Le Sommet of Hawkesbury, \u00c9cole secondaire catholique de Plantagenet, Glengarry District High School, L\u2019Acad\u00e9mie de la Seigneurie of Casselman, and Russell High School.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The best young arm-wrestlers in all of Prescott-Russell are coming to Hawkesbury Friday to pit their muscles against each other. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":12,"featured_media":28693,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[38],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-28692","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-sports-loisirs"],"acf":[],"featured_media_global":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v26.9 -
