{"id":28617,"date":"2023-03-16T10:41:10","date_gmt":"2023-03-16T14:41:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/editionap.ca\/?p=28617"},"modified":"2025-12-22T13:41:40","modified_gmt":"2025-12-22T12:41:40","slug":"cdsbeo-to-build-six-classrooms-at-russell-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/refletnews.ca\/en\/education\/cdsbeo-to-build-six-classrooms-at-russell-school\/","title":{"rendered":"CDSBEO to build six classrooms at Russell school"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Through the Ministry of Education\u2019s Capital Priorities Program, the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario (CDSBEO) has received a total of $3.79 million to construct six new classrooms at Mother Teresa Catholic School in the Village of Russell. The addition will help address accommodation for 138 permanent students from Kindergarten to Grade 6.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRussell is indeed a growing community, and the addition of permanent classrooms is essential to meeting the learning needs of the many families in this area,\u201d said CDSBEO Director of Education Laurie Corrigan. \u201cThis expansion represents and supports the wellbeing and learning of students in the communities in which they live.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, the CDSBEO also received funding through a joint capital submission to renovate space for a 24-child preschool program at Mother Teresa Catholic School.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis investment is as appreciated as it is necessary,\u201d said CDSBEO Board Chair Sue Wilson. \u201cThis addition will be tremendously valuable for the students and families served by Mother Teresa Catholic School.
