On January 27 and 28, Manitoulin Transport, a transportation company based in Ottawa and Pembroke, gave several charitable donations to worthy causes across the region as part of their Operation Mani-Claus. The majority of contributions this year were made to food banks, soup kitchens, and toy drives.<\/p>\n
Manitoulin donated $2500 to the Casselman food bank on January 27, and the next day on January 28, company officials presented a cheque for $2700 to the Embrun food bank. This is in addition to a further $5,795.15 that was gathered from the Embrun Christmas Market held in the Camille Pich\u00e9 Community Centre.<\/p>\n
Terminal manager Tyler B\u00e9gin said that Manitoulin encourages other companies to follow their example.<\/p>\n
