During the last regular meeting on December 12, The Nation council reviewed the proposed rental hall policy for 2023. The review included new rental rates, the implementation of rental rates for the new Sports Complex, and a new requirement for proof of liability insurance for sports leagues. The rental policy is reviewed twice a year.<\/p>\n
Regarding the rental fee increase, the past two councils have opted for a two-per-cent annual increase in hall rental rates during each of their four-year terms in order to keep pace with inflation. This year was no different, and the two-per-cent annual increase was confirmed until the next policy review.<\/p>\n
Regarding the new requirement for liability insurance, proof of insurance was made mandatory effective January 1 for anyone wishing to rent a hall in the municipality on a recurring basis. Proof of insurance is not required for parties or one-time hall rentals at this time.<\/p>\n
The Sports Complex had its rental rates set in anticipation of its January opening. Residents of The Nation will pay a bit less than non-residents, and the difference will be set aside in a reserve fund to cover the cost of changing the artificial turf in approximately 12 years. For those calling about rates, \u201cdaytime\u201d is from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, \u201cprime time\u201d is from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends, and \u201cnon-prime time\u201d is from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays, as well as 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on weekends.<\/p>\n
During the daytime, residents will be able to rent one field for $37.50 per hour plus tax. During non-prime time, residents may rent one field for $75 per hour plus tax or two fields for $150 per hour plus. Finally, during prime time, residents may rent one field for $150 per hour plus tax or two fields for $285 per hour plus tax.<\/p>\n
For non-residents, the daytime rate is $41.25 per hour plus tax. During non-prime time, one field is $82.50 per hour plus tax and two fields are $165 per hour plus tax.
