The Nation municipality has announced that GFL Environmental has delivered a $250,000 pledge from The Nation Gets in Shape Campaign. The campaign was launched in 2021 and is a $1,000,000 initiative to obtain equipment, furnishings, and other resources for the sportsplex.<\/p>\n

“I would like to thank GFL Environmental for their generous contribution to The Nation Gets in Shape campaign. This facility will serve our community as a whole, and it is thanks to organisations like GFL that our complex will be fully furnished, equipped and ready to welcome its users,\u201d said Mayor Francis Bri\u00e8re. “I thank GFL for being a leader in our community and look forward to welcoming other partners as we continue to raise funds.”<\/p>\n

The sportsplex will feature two FIFA soccer fields with a running track around them, as well as a multipurpose community centre. It is location next to \u00c9cole \u00e9l\u00e9mentaire catholique Saint-Viateur and will host year-round events such as youth soccer, seniors’ fitness, wedding receptions, and trade shows that will attract more than 20,000 people annually.<\/p>\n
