Campaign to provide motorized lifts in the new Prescott and Russell Residence to assist tenants with mobility issues who need help getting in and out of bed. (Provided photo)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Prescott and Russell Residence Foundation is celebrating a big success with one of its fundraising campaigns and wants to share the news with everyone.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">D\u00e9nise Robitaille, president of the Prescott and Russell Residence Foundation, announced \u201cwith great pride\u201d a very successful end to the non-profit agency\u2019s latest fundraising campaign for the benefit of residents who will be moving into the new Residence facility on Spence Street in Hawkesbury. Robitaille made the announcement during the May 28 session of the United Counties of Prescott-Russell council (UCPR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the past two years the foundation\u2019s latest campaign, Souleve-moi!\/Lift Me Up!, has been focused on raising funds for the purchase of 224 motorized lifts to assist Residence staffs with helping tenants who have mobility problems to get into and out bed and also getting in and out of bath tubs. In November 2024, the Foundation presented a $250,000 donation towards the purchase of the lifts and at the end of May this year, Robitaille announced another donation towards the project of $258,544.29, for a total of 508,544.29 for the purchase of all of the motorized lifts for use in the new Prescott-Russell Residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThese essential devices will be installed in every (tenant\u2019s) room of the Residence,\u201d said Robitaille.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Robitaille described the success of the fundraising campaign as a significant contribution to the well-being of present and future tenants of the Residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThey will not only support the work of our caregiver staff,\u201d she said, \u201cbut also significantly improve the safety, mobility, and quality of life of the residents.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Robitaille credited the success of the campaign to the overall support of the Prescott-Russell community, including individuals, businesses, and service groups, and the efforts of the Foundation\u2019s board, staff, and volunteers.
