Two people from Embrun are facing multiple charges following a serious assault with a weapon in Picton, Ontario, on Friday, October 24, night.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

At approximately 11:15 p.m. on Friday, officers with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to reports of an assault outside a convenience store on Paul Street.<\/span><\/p>\n

A 35-year-old man was found with very serious but non-life-threatening stab wounds and was transported to a regional trauma centre, where he continues to receive treatment. During the investigation, officers recovered multiple weapons at the scene.<\/span><\/p>\n

With assistance from the Tyendinaga Police Service, officers arrested two suspects shortly after the incident.<\/span><\/p>\n

Zachary Larrivee, 20, and Gavin Lafrance, 19, both from Embrun, have each been charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon, possession of an imitation weapon for a dangerous purpose, obstructing justice, and Larrivee is also charged with attempted murder.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both accused remain in custody and were scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

The investigation remains ongoing, with members of the Prince Edward County OPP, the County Crime Unit, and the OPP Forensic Identification Services continuing to gather evidence.<\/span><\/p>\n
