A 27-year-old Embrun man is facing multiple charges, including child pornography offences, after police discovered a recording device at a North Grenville daycare earlier this month.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Grenville County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said they received a report on Wednesday, August 20, about a recording device that had been found on the premises of a daycare in the community.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Following an investigation by the OPP Crime Unit, a suspect was arrested on August 29 and initially charged with voyeurism. The man remained in custody for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In an update, police confirmed that a search warrant executed as part of the investigation led to the seizure of hundreds of inappropriate video clips involving both adults and children.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As a result, additional charges have been laid against Daniel Morash, 27, of Embrun. He now faces charges of possession and access to child pornography, and mischief (obstructing, interrupting, or interfering with the use of property). These charges are in addition to the original voyeurism charge.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Morash has since been released from custody on strict conditions following a bail hearing. He is scheduled to appear again before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on Friday, October 3, 2025.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As part of the ongoing investigation, officers are working to identify victims depicted in the seized video clips. Police confirmed that information is being shared with all parents at the daycare facility, and investigators will be reaching out directly to identified victims.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe understand that this matter is concerning and upsetting for those who’s children may have been impacted,\u201d stated the update on the Ontario Provincial Police – East Region\u2019s Facebook page.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
