Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have arrested four motorists for impaired driving on May 16 and 19 in The Nation, Rockland and Embrun.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On May 16, shortly after 11:00 p.m., officers in The Nation stopped a speeding vehicle.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the investigation, officers utilized an Approved Screening Device (ASD), the driver was arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As a result of the investigation, a 30-year-old from Embrun was charged with operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus, speeding (96 kilometres per hour in a 60 kilometre per hour zone), and driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On May 19, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers in Rockland stopped a motorist after observing a vehicle passing another vehicle unsafely.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the investigation, officers utilized an Approved Screening Device (ASD). The driver was arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old, from Caledon was charged with operating while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A little more than two hours later, at approximately 3:20 a.m., officers in Embrun conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle believed to have an improper licence plate.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the investigation, officers utilized an ASD, and the driver was arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As a result of the investigation, a 41-year-old, from Repentigny, Quebec, was charged with operating while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On the same day, shortly after 9:40 p.m., officers completed a traffic stop on a vehicle after almost being hit head-on.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Again, during the investigation, officers utilized an ASD. The driver was arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

An 82-year-old, from Casselman was charged with operating while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All four motorists received 90-day driver’s licence suspensions and their vehicles were impounded for seven days.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All individuals are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal at a later date.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
