Mayor Pierre Leroux has confirmed his intention to run for re-election during the upcoming municipal election, to be held on October 24. 

“I very much enjoy the honours of being your mayor and helping guide the direction our wonderful community is taking,” said Leroux. “You can’t please everyone in this role, and I understand that some decisions are not always popular for some. Still, I have always thought that we need a forward-thinking mentality and balance in everything we do, and in a democracy, that sometimes means compromise. 

“So I would like to thank current council members for their dedication and openness during the past three years.  As we move into our last year on council, I am confident this trend will continue.” 

The official campaign period will begin in May.
