Limoges firefighters cancel community supper and bingo following retired chief’s death

The Limoges Firefighters Association has canceled its upcoming community supper and bingo scheduled for September 25 following the death of retired Fire Chief Aurèle Constantineau.

The association announced the cancellation as arrangements were being made for Constantineau’s wake and funeral, saying its focus should be on supporting his family during the difficult time.

“We deeply regret to announce that our upcoming community supper and bingo has been canceled,” the association said in a statement. “Our focus and community support must be with his family at this difficult time.”

Constantineau dedicated 45 years of service to the Limoges Fire Department before retiring as fire chief. The department later became part of the Nation Fire Department.

His wake will be held Friday, September 25, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Laurent Hill Funeral Home, located at 709 Principale Street in Casselman.

Funeral services will take place Saturday, September 26, at 11 a.m. at St. Viateur Church, located at 154 Mabel Street in Limoges. A reception will follow at the Limoges Community Hall at 205 Limoges Road.
The association asked community members to keep the Constantineau family in their thoughts and prayers.

The Limoges Firefighters Association said it plans to hold its next community event on October 30 and thanked residents for their understanding and continued support.
