Earlier this month, staff and management from MLS Insurance and Intact Insurance presented a $30,000 donation to the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital (HGH) Foundation.

The donation was possible through an employee fundraising initiative at MLS Insurance and matching contributions from both MLS Insurance and Intact Insurance.

The funds will directly support and strengthen mental health and addiction services for individuals and families across the region.

“What started as a simple employee initiative grew into an incredible $30,000 gift thanks to the support of MLS Insurance and Intact Insurance,” said Erin Tabakman, Executive Director of the HGH Foundation.

MLS Insurance employees initiated the campaign, raising an initial $10,000. The brokerage matched their employees’ efforts corporate-wide, adding another $10,000 to bring the total to $20,000. Building on that momentum, MLS applied for a matching grant from Intact Insurance, which contributed the final $10,000.

“We’re grateful to everyone involved for helping strengthen mental health and addictions services in our community,” added Tabakman.

The official cheque presentation was held at the MLS Insurance office in St. Isidore on September 8.
