OPP arrest individual after assault investigation, vehicle seized

Russell County OPP have arrested a man following an assault investigation that led to multiple charges and the seizure of a vehicle.

Officers responded to a report of an aggressive individual at a business in Limoges on Feb. 25 around 10 a.m. Police determined that the suspect had attempted to punch an employee before fleeing in a vehicle.

About 20 minutes later, officers stopped a vehicle matching the description and licence plate provided by the complainant. The driver was arrested, and further investigation revealed he was a prohibited driver. As a result, the vehicle was impounded for 45 days.

Tracey Trenholme, of St. Catharines, Ont., has been charged with five counts of operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code, three counts of driving while under suspension under the Highway Traffic Act, and one count of assault.

The accused was held for a bail hearing, later released, and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on April 2.
