Peace officer assaulted in Clarence-Rockland

The Russell County OPP responded to a call on County Road 17, just past 9:45 p.m. on May 3, when the caller reported someone trespassing and trying to steal a vehicle. The suspect was found shortly after they arrived, and a fight occurred between the suspect and officer.

Joey Lapensee, age 34, from Rockland was charged with assault, resisting arrest, trespassing, failure to comply with a release order, theft of a vehicle over $5,000, possessing stolen property over $5,000, and disarming a police officer. He was held for bail.
