The Russell County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest following a theft at the Embrun Arena earlier this month. 

Police say the incident occurred on Saturday, December 6, at the Embrun Arena located on Blais Street. During the theft, approximately $70 in cash was taken along with two credit cards. Investigators report that the stolen credit cards were later used to make two separate purchases in Embrun. 

The suspect is described as a Middle Eastern male, approximately 40 to 50 years old, with a black beard. Police say the individual spoke French and indicated he was from Quebec. 

At the time of the incident, the suspect was reportedly wearing a black baseball cap with the letters “CCM,” tinted black sunglasses, and a black coat with a fur-lined hood. 

Investigators also believe that a white panel van may have been involved in the incident. 

The Russell County OPP are urging anyone with information related to this theft, or who may recognize the individual or vehicle described, to come forward. Members of the public are asked to contact the Russell County OPP at 1-888-310-1122 and reference case number E251641827.
